United Healthcare

Knoxville Pediatric Associates (KPA) will no longer participate with United HealthCare (UHC) Tenncare effective January 1, 2018. UHC Tenncare is known as UHC Community Plan as well as Americhoice. KPA will continue its participation in the BlueCare (Blue Cross Tenncare) and Amerigroup Tenncare networks.

If you would like to continue with our practice after January 1st, 2018, it will be necessary for you to change to one of the other Tenncare organizations during open enrollment in July and to select your current KPA physician as your primary care physician. Please see attached information from the Bureau of Tenncare on how to change to a Tenncare organization other than UHC Tenncare.  In addition to choosing a Tenncare organization other than UHC, it is important to choose your current KPA physician as your PCP.  When completing the Tenncare organization change, if you do not indicate your current KPA physician will be your PCP, they will choose a PCP for you.  We will not be able to continue to care for your family if a KPA physician is not your PCP.

Please note that you have the entire month of July to change, but I encourage you to do so as early as possible. If you decide not to choose an organization other than UHC Tenncare, we will be happy to care for your child(ren) through December 31, 2017, after which we will no longer be able to provide care for your family. In this situation, we will forward your records to a provider of your choice.

It has been our pleasure to care for your family and we sincerely hope to continue doing so. Thank you,

Patricia J. Adham, CEO
