Little League Elbow and Swimmer’s Shoulder and Runner’s Knee, Oh My!

As my children have started to enjoy playing more sports, I realize how competitive sports have become at an earlier age. This is a nationwide trend that is causing those of us in the pediatric world to see more overuse injuries than ever before. What is an overuse injury? An overuse injury is damage to a bone, muscle, ligament or tendon due to repetitive stress without allowing time for the body to heal.
