Robert L. Barnes, III, M.D.
Dr. Barnes has been with Knoxville Pediatrics since 1975.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1968 from the University of North Carolina and his medical degree in 1972. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Alabama Medical Center.
Dr. Barnes is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
He is an American Academy of Pediatrics Fellow, a member of Knoxville Academy of Medicine and the Tennessee Medical Association. He is a medical staff member at East Tenessee Children’s Hospital and was Chief of Staff, 1983-1984. Dr.Barnes is currently part of KPA's electronic health records (EHR) team.
Dr. Barnes is married and enjoys gardening, listening to classical music, hiking, jogging and traveling. Dr. Barnes and his wife, Laura, have participated in several marathons to raise money for Leukemia and Lymphoma Societies of America.
